Mark Rohrig
Born in 1955, Mark has built a 26-year career as an artist who is able to capture the elusive spirit of the Native American in his vivid paintings. His colors are bold and serve to compliment the dramatically somber and defiant figures he lays to canvas.

Though his images may convey a sorrowfulness and depth of emotion which cannot but help tear at a viewer’s heart, Mark says that “painting is one of the most relaxing times of my day. I feel especially at peace in my studio. I’m free to express the quieter inner being.”
The images pay homage to a history of trial, fortitude, and sufferings. As there is a quietness to the works, there is also a resilient beauty of the culture and peoples. Mark’s gift in conveying so much is exemplified in the eyes of his warriors. While so many portray a sadness, others portray a strength of unquenchable nature.

His works have been exhibited in multiple publications including: Southwest Art, Art of the West, and American Indian Art. His works hang in private and corporate collections across the country.
