Burgess Roye

Burgess Roye is a well-known Ponca (American Indian) artist.  He was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma, moved to Western Colorado in 1980, where he lived in Grand Junction until his recent move back to Oklahoma.

“I was taught the symbolism regarding my culture from my grandparents.  My art reflects this and enables me to be comfortable about being and Indian in a modern world”

We currently have three original water colors all with matting down by the artist and a saying on the bottom of each one, they are as follows:

untittled-framed 24”x20”

-in thought of the past feel the reason within your heart that all your ways be greater in your time

untittled-framed 23”x20”

-should time pass and we don’t see each-other in the morning sun, i will remember you always

untittled-framed 23”x17”

-in the temple we are as one, you and i, and on our journey we will walk in peace and understanding and the truths of ourselves as one with each-other you and i
